What Does The Chevrolet P1812 Code Mean?

Engine started, and the PCM detected the Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor indicated more than 266ºF for 7 minutes during the test.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Chevrolet P1812 Code?

  • ATF level is low or the fluid is burnt or contaminated
  • ATF filter is clogged or not properly installed/seated
  • A/T line pressure is low (check for clogged cooler lines)
  • ECT sensor is contaminated or out-of-calibration (skewed)
