Ford P1280: Injection Control System Pressure Out-Of-Range Low
OVERVIEWWhat Does The Ford P1280 Code Mean?
Engine started, and the PCM detected the Injector Pressure Sensor (ICP) indicated an out-of-range “low” condition. The ICP sensor is a variable capacitance sensor that, when supplied with a 5v reference signal, produces an analog signal.
What Are The Potential Causes Of The Ford P1280 Code?
- ICP sensor circuit is shorted to ground
- ICP sensor is “skewed” to the “low” side of its range, or it has failed
- PCM has failed
